Consulting Engineers of Ontario elects new Board of Directors and Board Chair

At its annual general meeting in Toronto, Consulting Engineers of Ontario (CEO) reviewed a successful year under outgoing CEO chair Michael Snow, presenting a new strategic plan and introducing a new board chair and three newly elected board members.

“CEO must act as the voice of our industry to protect our interests in these times of change,” said Rob Kivi, CEO’s new board chair, in a speech to approximately 90 AGM attendees. “We are seeing significant changes in project delivery models and some discouraging trends towards contract conditions that assign unreasonable risks and liabilities to our members. We will continue to monitor changing delivery methods and work with client groups to ensure that the interests of our members are protected under these models.”

Kivi is a vice president and partner with MMM Group Limited, with nearly 30 years of experience in consulting engineering in Ontario. A civil engineer, his career has focused on transportation projects.

“Through a strategic planning exercise, CEO identified our primary Client Relations goal of ‘promoting fair procurement and business practices among member firm clients’ as a priority,” Kivi added. “It is clear that our members see this as one of the primary roles of the organization.”
