Last week, industry professionals from some of Toronto’s most prominent architectural firms, general contractors and developers hit the stage at the Mod Club to celebrate Earth Week. This was the third year that the event was hosted by Smith + Andersen and their sustainability division Footprint.
In celebration of Smith + Andersen’s 50th Anniversary, Eco Jam 2015 had a 1960s theme. It was emceed by “Austin Powers” with 58 performers from companies including architectsAlliance, Avison Young, B+H Architects, Bentall Kennedy, Daniels, Diamond Schmitt Architects, Ellis Don, Facio, G Architects, HOK, NORR, PCL, Perkins + Will Architects, Quadrangle Architects, Salter Pilon Architects, Smith + Andersen, Walsh Construction, WZMH Architects and Zeidler Partnership Architects. An enthusiastic crowd cheered the talent on while raising funds to plant over 1,700 trees across the province.
The annual musical event draws attention to the importance of trees to the construction industry.
