SNC-Lavalin will design and construct BC’s Coast Meridian Overpass

SNC-Lavalin’s Vancouver-based division, SNC-Lavalin Constructors (Pacific) Inc. has been awarded a contract by the City of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia to design and construct the Coast Meridian Overpass. The $94.5 million contract involves the design and construction of a 1,903-ft.-long cable-stayed bridge over the CP Railway yards linking north and south Port Coquitlam, with two lanes in each direction, a sidewalk and two bicycle lanes. “The overpass will provide a new transportation link between the north and south parts of the City, and will reduce congestion on other access routes,” said Jim Burke, executive vice-president, SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. Project completion is slated for January 2010.
