Quebec organizations partner for energy efficiency

Five large organizations in Quebec have formed a partnership called the “Partenaires efficaces” through the Association québécoise pour la maîtrise de l’énergie (AQME) with the ambitious goal of reducing their energy use by 30 percent. National Bank, Desjardins Group, Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ), Sobeys and Transcontinental own or manage over 3,200 buildings in the province with combined annual energy bills over $135 million. These organizations will work together to develop tools and solutions, as well as to share knowledge and experience. AQME has already launched two resources to support the partnership: the Centre de formation en maîtrise de l’énergie (CFME) training centre and the Réseau d’expertises en maîtrise de l’énergie (REME) experts’ network.
