Purdy’s Wharf, managed by GWL Realty Advisors, set a new sustainability benchmark by becoming the first commercial property in Atlantic Canada to attain LEED EB: O&M. The CaGBC awarded the three-building, 694,000 square foot complex a Gold certification on December 1, 2014.

Green building specialists Halsall Associates, supported GWL Realty Advisors with LEED-EB implementation, retro-commissioning and outdoor air analysis. Results include:
- 34 per cent less energy consumed compared to the average commercial office building as benchmarked by Energy Star – enough energy saved to power over 500 average homes
- No drinking water used for irrigation
- 75 per cent of waste diverted from landfill
- Two out of three Purdy’s Wharf occupants carpool or commute via means other than cars
