Humber to offer comprehensive Sustainable Energy and Building Technology program

Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning is launching a Sustainable Energy and Building Technology (SEBT) program, starting September 2008. This program will be offered as a three-year, full-time advanced Ontario diploma.

The SEBT program will provide multidisciplinary training in renewable energy, along with aspects of building design and construction that can have a significant impact on a building’s energy efficiency. Graduates will have the necessary depth and breadth of knowledge to assess, design, co-ordinate and commission the increasingly sophisticated mix of technologies that generate, transform and utilize energy within buildings.

Graduates will be able to pursue careers in sustainable building design and construction, energy management, energy efficiency and conservation, as energy site developers, in energy auditing and building performance simulation, as well as in the renewable energy specialties.
