Spadina Link Project Managers has been awarded a seven-year, $100 million Project Management Services contract for the Spadina Subway Extension by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). The group, which have been working with the TTC over the past 50 years, is comprised of engineering consulting firm Hatch Mott MacDonald of Millburn, New Jersey; infrastructure solutions company Delcan of Markham, Ontario; and MMM Group of Thornhill, Ontario, an engineering consulting, planning and project management firm.
The 8.6 km extension to the existing Spadina subway line will add six more stations, including a new station at York University. The estimated final cost is $2.63 billion and is sponsored by three levels of government; Government of Canada, Province of Ontario and City of Toronto/York Region.
The project is expected to be completed in 2015.
