InHaus Development Ltd. has been awarded LEED Platinum by the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) for their two brand new sustainable homes in White Rock, B.C., joining a very short list of only seven LEED Platinum- rated energy efficient homes in Western Canada.
These two single-family homes are the first of their kind in the Metro Vancouver area. Soaring ceilings, wide open plans, floor-to-ceiling windows, private “in-home” office space and iPad controlled “smart home” automation are combined with the latest sustainable technologies. “Beachaus I & II serve as models of greener living for the entire community,” said Mark Hutchinson, director of Green Building Programs for the CaGBC. “The homes are at the national forefront of quality and their example can help us all to live better by reducing our environmental footprint, cutting our utility bills and coming home to a healthier place to live.”
“It’s an honour to have achieved LEED Platinum on the Beachaus project” said Dave deBruyn, president of InHaus Development. “Platinum is the highest level of certification available in the LEED program and only three other homes in the Lower Mainland have received it to date. There are a growing number of homebuyers who are seeking high quality homes that are smaller, smarter and less expensive to operate. It just makes sense given our unprecedented affordability challenges and ever increasing energy costs.”
