Funding will be used to purchase diagnostic imaging equipment
SUDBURY, ON, Jan. 22, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Lafarge Canada Inc. (Eastern
Canada) today announced a contribution of $50,000 to the Manitoulin
Health Centre in support of their capital fundraising campaign. Lafarge
was joined today by leaders from the Manitoulin Health Centre and
fundraising special event chairman Jeff Wallace of Fisher Wavy to
celebrate the conclusion of a highly successful 3-year fundraising
campaign. Lafarge's contribution will go towards the purchase of the
diagnostic imaging equipment desperately needed at its two hospital
sites on Manitoulin Island.
"Lafarge is committed to building better cities and communities. Being
an active partner where we live, work, and raise our families is an
important part of our values," said Bob Cartmel, President & CEO,
Lafarge Eastern Canada. "We are thrilled to be joining the Manitoulin
Health Centre's celebrations today and make a difference in the health
services that the community will receive, including many Lafarge
employees and their families living in the region."

campaign received an overwhelmingly positive response from residents
and businesses in the region. Individuals, municipalities, First

and helped raise more than $1 Million, going above and beyond the

contribution from Lafarge Eastern Canada. Lafarge is an important
partner in our Northern Ontario community and we are delighted to have
their support for our cause," said Derek Graham, President & CEO,
