The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) announced the winners of the 2012 Professional Awards this week, which honour the top public places, residential designs, campuses, parks and urban planning projects from international locations.

37 awards go to professional landscape architects and their firms, selected from more than 620 entries in the categories of General Design, Residential Design, Analysis and the Planning, Communications, and Research. In addition, The Landmark Award, awarded to Village of Yorkville Park in Toronto, recognizes a distinguished landscape architecture project completed between 15 and 50 years ago that retains its original design integrity and contributes to the public realm of its community.

The September issue of Landscape Architecture Magazine will feature the winning projects and is available online for free viewing. Winners will receive awards at the ASLA Annual Meeting and EXPO in Phoenix on Monday, October 1.
