A consortium comprised of Cadillac Fairview Corporation, Canderel, the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ and the Club de hockey Canadien unveiled the features of a new condominium that is associated with a brand everyone in the city will recognize: Tour des Canadiens.

By buying into the project, future condo owners will also get exclusive access to the Montreal Canadiens. Every year, they will have priority for purchasing tickets to regular season games and will be able to enjoy one two-hour skating session for two people at the Bell Centre. They will have the possibility of attending preseason games in a private box or behind the Canadiens’ bench. They will also be invited to participate in private workouts and a VIP tour of the players’ dressing room.

“We’re very pleased to contribute to giving Montreal such an exciting real estate project and to offering future owners this privileged access to the Bell Centre. We are also involved in developing the sports bar and restaurant that will be part of the Tour des Canadiens project. It’s bound to become a destination that is unique in Canada, where people visiting the Bell Centre, either for a Canadiens game or for an evening show, will be able to enjoy an outstanding ambience,” said Kevin Gilmore, executive vice-president and chief operating officer of the Club de hockey Canadien.

Gilmore also indicated that plans to relocate the Place du Centenaire are advancing well. It will be situated in the immediate environs of the Bell Centre and designed to conserve this important tribute to the unique relationship that has developed over the past century between the Canadiens and their fans. He explained that for the duration of the work, the statues and bricks will be removed and carefully stored to preserve their integrity until construction has been completed.

“Tour des Canadiens is much more than a prestigious address. It embodies a unique concept where sports and entertainment are an integral part of daily life and is already sparking keen interest, [and] a number of units that were earmarked for season’s ticket holders have all found takers,” said Daniel Peritz, senior vice-president, Canderel.

Designed by architects Cardinal Hardy and Martin Marcotte/Beinhaker, the 48-storey building will stand on a 10-storey podium located at the corner of de la Montagne and Avenue des Canadiens. Located in the heart of downtown, it will be the only residential project to offer direct access to the Bell Centre, the metro, the train stations and underground Montreal. Huma Design will be responsible for the interior design of the 520 residential units and the common areas in Tour des Canadiens.
