Toronto-based Shore Tilbe Irwin & Partners has joined forces with global integrated design firm Perkins+Will, making it their 19th office in North America and second in Canada.

“The Shore Tilbe Irwin merger supports our strategy to grow by targeted acquisition, as it represents a pooling of expertise that will bring significant benefits to our business,” said Phil Harrison, Perkins+Will CEO.  “Shore Tilbe’s experience in designing recreational environments will be instrumental in developing a new market sector across Perkins+Will’s expansive global network, while our depth in the corporate, civic, education, healthcare, science and transportation space will open the door to new opportunities for Shore Tilbe’s vast client base.”

Shore Tilbe Irwin & Partners was founded in 1945. With 80 professionals, Shore Tilbe Irwin & Partners provides architectural consulting services for clients in the commercial, government, institutional, industrial, and recreation industries, for example: the Nathan Phillips Square Revitalization Project in downtown Toronto; the Hazel McCallion Academic Learning Centre, University of Toronto, Mississauga; and the Angus Glen Community Centre and Library in Markham, Ontario.

“Shore Tilbe Irwin and Perkins+Will share a common philosophy of design and practice, and combining the knowledge, expertise and resources of our two firms will result in one of the strongest and most innovative architecture practices in North America,” said Andrew Frontini, design director for Shore Tilbe Irwin & Partners. “Our strength in the sports and recreational industry, coupled with our deep insight into the Canadian marketplace, will add another dimension to Perkins+Will’s world-class offering.”
